The AMS 5647 is the AMS number of the 304L grade stainless steel. The specification offers exactly the same material as 304L ss, and hence the properties like corrosion 

resistance and high weldability are also the same. Different types of products like bars, wires, forgings, tubing, etc., can be made with the help of this stainless steel grade.

The SS 304LRound Bars are annealed and they remain non-magnetic in that condition. However, it might get slightly magnetic due to cold-working or welding. The 

annealing takes place with the help of standard fabrication procedures. The annealing of the 304L ss round bars are achieved by heating the material above the temperature 

of 1037 degrees C for 90 minutes per 25mm thickness. This is followed by water or air quenching. By properly following the annealing process, the corrosion resistance 

capabilities of ss 304L round bars can be significantly improved.
